Day 214: Man on the Street
Day 213: Pinhole Self-Portrait
Day 212: Kim
My friend Stanley is delightful and a stylist. A couple days ago he wrote and said he had a good subject for me, a woman named Kim. So I stopped by the salon this evening and took 5 minutes of her time for a quick sitting once they were finished with her hair. Mixed temperature peaky spectrum lighting meant that getting skin tones anything but completely wrong was going to be a battle I was going to lose. But that’s ok, because I think it looks better in black and white anyway.

Day 211: Caution Cisco Ahead
So I ended up swapping the ring light for a beauty dish up front. 7 women, 230 something pictures. It was a long night.
Much work to do on them before anyone gets to see it, but here’s one of my assistants for the evening standing in to test the lighting. I even left the side lights cropped in to give you a better view of the setup.
Day 210: Shirts
Day 209: Unicycle
Who rides a unicycle around town? I knew a kid named Derek at UConn who did, but he also went to Clown College so that made sense.

Day 208: Samar
Today, a couple of new friends named Hal and Samar came over to take some pictures. I met them a couple of months ago while attending an art show in the Lower East Side. I’ll post more images as I have time to edit over the next few days. Including what I hope to be the companion piece to Mary in Peril. In the meantime enjoy Samar in a sari. I’m totally digging the daylight studio thing. Getting my inner Annie Leibovitz on.
