It’s one of my prized possessions, but I generally don’t wear it. Both because I don’t tend to wear watches and honestly I’m afraid of losing it. It fell off my wrist once when the band broke as I was getting off a subway train a few years ago and ‘almost’ fell onto the tracks between the train and platform.

I figured it was about time I took a picture of it. Click to blow-up.

I’m less of an external enclosure guy and more of a bare drive in pelican case which I can hot swap kind of guy. Nerdy? Yes. Cheaper and cooler? Hell yes.

Anyway, this is the mechanism of a 500GB Western Digital drive that had a disconcerting click when in use so was therefore retired from active service. Thought it would be fun to crack it open.
